The Academy Programme - Crossfit and Education for Schools

Welcome to The Academy Programme, Welcome to the Community

Distant Hills Guest House B&B Spean Bridge

The Academy is a community interest company, run by Teachers, CrossFit Coaches & Health care Professionals who share a passion of wanting to leave the world a better place than the one we exist within. It’s my life’s work and the team’s legacy.

The Academy was born out of my desire to foster and the gut feeling that CrossFit could help save and change lives, just as it had for me.

It’s no secret that I’ve had more than my fair share of ‘life experiences’, all navigated with clinical depression and being neurodivergent.

But all those impactful moments brought me to a place to create the Academy. A space for others to experience achievement & success, whatever success looks like to them.

Through positive reinforcement, tangible results, community, compassion and a non judgement environment, i believe we can engage a variety of young people and what better place to do just that, than within mainstream education, alternative provision and Virtual School.

I’m excited to work together and I look forward to being a part of something bigger with you.

Hannah Mittoo

Hannah Mittoo is the Co-Founder and Director of The Academy Programme, a UK-based initiative using CrossFit as an educational tool. She played a key role in piloting a 16-week CrossFit course aimed at supporting students, particularly those in or from the care system, by introducing them to sports and fitness, while also focusing on life skill development and educational opportunities. Following the pilot’s success, Mittoo and her team expanded the program into schools, partnering with local CrossFit affiliates to engage and transform students’ lives through fitness.
